NOTICE OF RACE

 

1            RULES

1.1         The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing.

 2            ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY

2.1         The regatta is open to Chesapeake 20s.  Other classes, N20 and Albacores will race a regular summer series.    

3            FEES – No fees apply to his event.

4            SCHEDULE

4.1         Registration: None required

             

4.2         Dates of racing:

4.3         Start time:  Informal meeting will be held at 10:15 PM and races will start at 11:00 PM 

4.4         Number of races:[    Short courses.  We hope to complete five races.

     5            VENUE

Start will take place in West River cove (but location may vary depending on wind). 

 

6            THE COURSES:

There will be windward leeward courses. 

 

7            PENALTY SYSTEM:

The regatta will be governed by the current rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing.

 8            SCORING:

The scoring system is as follows:  Low Point Scoring System found in Appendix A of The Racing Rules of Sailing.

 

9            SUPPORT BOATS

              Support boats shall be marked with the letters WRSC.

 10          RADIO COMMUNICATION

A boat shall neither make radio transmissions while racing nor receive radio communications not available to all boats. This restriction also applies to mobile telephones.

 

11          DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY

Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.
