Race results from West River Sailing Club's Newsletter, August 1962 from Ellen Nell.  She notes that Morton Knight's Gay Lady won the summer series; and Frolic by Kit Hedler won the West River to Annapolis Race.  Gay Lady with John Thomas won the Annapolis Regatta.  Finishes and places are in attached article.

Dick Hartge Moves to Florida, 1961

Washington Post article of August 29, 1961 by Aubrey Graves on the WRSC send off to Captain Dick Hartge, founder of the Chesapeake 20 class, as he moves to Florida.  West River Sailing Club had a crab dinner send off.  A picture of Dick and his wife Jane includes their siblings: Totch, Maryland, Susanne.

Willie Keyworth - Teenage Pioneer

At a teenager, Willie Keyworth was a sensation.  With some of the toughest, esperienced competitors, he won many regattas in the early 1960s.  He learned to sail at WRSC and now is manager of the North Sails in Annapolis.  His mentor was Bobby Orme, owner of Blue Water Marina, and one of the most successful Chesapeake 20 races from the 1940s through the 60s.
