NOTICE OF REGATTA

for the

2009 Nelson Parks Regatta

 

 

CLASSES:  Chesapeake 20 and Nacra 20

 

CLUB/HOST ORGANIZATION: West River Sailing Club

 

WHERE:          West River Sailing Club

WHEN:            Sunday, July 19, 2009

 

ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY: All boats must be helmed by a full member of their respective Class Association.

 

SCHEDULE:  The PRO will attempt to get in 5 races as conditions allow.  Skippers meeting will be at 10:00 am with the first warning gun at 11:00 am. 

 

RULES: The regatta will be governed by the prevailing Racing Rules of Sailing and the sailing instructions to be issued at registration. 

 

COURSES:  Courses will be selected and jointly by the Fleet Captains for each class and the PRO prior to the skippers meeting.

 

FEES:  There is no entry fee for this event.

 

SAFETY: Each boat must carry a towline of at least 30 feet length and 1/4 inch thickness.

 

SAILING INSTRUCTIONS: The Sailing instructions are available on line at http://www.sailingsource.com/wrsc/RaceManagement/2006_SI_Simplified.pdf and will be made available at registration.

 

SCORING:  The low point system of Appendix A of the racing will apply. The completion of at least one race shall constitute a series. One drop race will be allowed if five or more races are sailed.
